Animangel of the Month

Each month, we will choose a pet to be our Animangel of the Month. To be eligible for Animangel of the Month, you must send us a story about why your pet deserves its wings. Our board will read every story and choose the most inspiring stories to be featured in this section of our website. The winner will also receive a free certificate showing that your pet is truly an Animangel.

CHANA The first Animangel of the Month award goes to Chana, our wonderful German Shepherd who just recently left us. We got her in the summer of 1997, and enjoyed every minute with her! She was a very loyal dog who always made us smile. Everyday when we'd come home she'd run to us with a huge doggy smile on her face, she acted like the happiest dog on Earth. Chana was a very intelligent dog, one night while the family was gone, we left her outside and a thunder storm started, Chana hated thunder. When we got home we saw muddy dog prints all over the doors. We walked in and there she was, waiting for us to get home. Somehow, she had jumped up and pushed down on the french handle just right to open the door and then she shut the door behind her. She wanted to go in so she did! Chana loved her "little sister" Texi, a chihuahua mutt, and every winter when Texi's little fur couldn't keep her warm, Chana cuddled with her to keep her warm. It was adorable to see an 80 lb. German Shepherd curled up with a 5 lb. Chihuahua. Last New Year's Eve Chana was hit by a car. We love her very much and will always miss her. She is our Animangel!
